In addition to lessons, I also offer optional cultural experiences for those who would like to practice Japanese in real situations!
For example:
– Attending concerts (wind band / classical music) As I play in a classical orchestra as a hobby, I can share information about concerts in Tokyo ( also all over Japan) and help you enjoy them.
– Visiting a local sento (public bath) I love public bathhouses and have visited over 100 in Tokyo. I’d be happy to recommend the perfect one for you. (Of course, I’ll teach you the proper way to use a public bath!)
Even if you are not confident in your Japanese yet, no worries — you can join comfortably. My lessons are relaxed and friendly, focusing on helping you use natural Japanese through conversation. As a certified Japanese language teacher, I will teach you correct Japanese.
Lessons are mainly conducted in Japanese, but I adjust my speaking and provide support depending on your level.

I can help with conversation practice, pronunciation, homework, questions, and reading & writing — whatever you need.

Hello! My name is Hiroki, and I am a Japanese language instructor.
My lessons are primarily designed for those who wish to converse naturally in Japanese, as well as beginners who have just started learning the language.
I have completed a 420-hour Japanese language teacher training course based on the guidelines of the Agency for Cultural Affairs and hold a nationally certified Japanese language teaching qualification.
(Some information has been redacted to protect personal privacy.)
I focus on teaching “practical Japanese” rather than just grammar. In my lessons, I dedicate as much time as possible to conversation and strive to create an environment where students can express themselves without fear of making mistakes.
I was born in a temple and grew up surrounded by Japanese culture and customs. For this reason, I place particular emphasis on supporting students who wish to learn not only the language but also Japanese culture and ways of thinking.
(The name of this site, “Bozu,” refers to a shaved head in Japanese. Since I was born into a Buddhist temple family, am a monk, and have a shaved head, I chose that as the name for my website.)
I like playing percussion and piano in an orchestra, and I am currently active as a member of a music ensemble. I utilize the “effective communication skills” I have cultivated through my musical activities to provide attentive and meticulous lessons tailored to each individual student.
I offer lessons in a relaxed atmosphere where you can learn while having fun, so please feel free to contact me!
